Stormberg is a Norwegian company which was established in 1998. Stormberg set out to manufacture sports and outdoor clothing that was functional, looked good, and had a sensible price tag. When Stormberg started out, the market was characterized and populated by expensive outdoor clothing - which probably could take you on an expedition to the South Pole. Us Norwegians are outdoor enthusiasts, but our trips don't generally take us as far as the South Pole, you are more likely to find us strolling on the beach or through the forest with our family and friends or hiking on mountain trails. This was a predicament, our needs didn't require these expensive clothes, but we still didn't trust the cheap ones. So we saw a niche in the market, and Stormberg was born, established by Steinar J. Olsen. Since then, Stormberg has grown from 4 employees and 3.8 million NOK in turnover, to over 376 employees (summer 2014) and 377 million NOK in turnover in 2013. Stormberg is a commercial business and therefore, is dependent on making money. It is, however, very important for us to make money in a way that is good for society and for those working at Stormberg. 1% of Stormberg's turnover is used for humanitarian and social beneficial purposes. Stormberg has an action plan to create an inclusive working environment, which means that 25% of all employees who are recruited will be people who have, for various reasons had difficulties entering the labor market. Stormberg, today has a large diversity of employees, from university graduates to unskilled workers, former convicted criminals and former drug addicts. All of this combined means that today, Stormberg is Norway's best-selling brand of outdoor clothing. We offer a range of sports and outdoor clothing for all ages, at family friendly prices. Our clothes are suitable for most of your daily activities, be that if you are hiking, playing in the kindergarten or out shopping in town. There is something for everyone and we hope you enjoy our clothes as much as we do! Every time you make a purchase with Stormberg, 1% is set aside to make a difference. We support humanitarian projects both locally and internationally. So far this amounts to more than 2 million Euro.
