Stroud Brewery

Stroud Brewery is a craft brewery supplying unique beers to drinkers within the 'five valleys' of the Stroud District and sharing some of what makes the area special a little further a field. We produce premium beers using high quality ingredients. We use whole hops and our malting barley is grown on the Cotswolds. Stroud Brewery supports the local economy. We do not sell any beer through supermarkets. We sell to pubs, independent retailers and directly to the public. All of us at Stroud Brewery have a concern about our impact on the planet and we strive in every way to make our business as sustainable as possible - financially, environmentally and socially. It is not just the process of brewing beer - minimising our resource use, using local and organic ingredients, re-cycling our waste (as feedstuff for pigs and cows on local small holdings) and delivering locally - but also the way we do business. We believe an important element of developing long term sustainable communities is to strengthen the local economy - to bring money into it and then keep it there! This is one of the reasons why we will not sell our beer through the supermarkets, but choose to sell through independent outlets. We try to use local suppliers and services and we raised much of our start up finance through interest paying loans from local people. Pubs are the fabric of social life in the UK. They are one of the few places were all members of the community, from all walks of life can meet. They are the heart of economic and community life, providing employment, entertainment, respite even a refuge. Pubs are at the heart of our leisure and tourism industry - supporting our sports, and a fundamental element of every visitor's itinerary in the UK.
