The law firm now known as Stubbeman, McRae, Sealy, Laughlin & Browder, Inc. was formed in Midland, Texas, in 1936 by Frank Stubbeman, Hamilton McRae and Tom Sealy, under the name of Stubbeman, McRae & Sealy, in response to the demand for legal services created by the discovery and development of the Permian Basin oil field. During its 70-year history, the Stubbeman Firm has cultivated a nationally respected reputation in the areas of oil and gas law and oil and gas litigation. The Firm has also developed a successful and diversified practice in many other areas of the law, including personal injury, professional liability and commercial litigation; medical malpractice, alternative dispute resolution, corporate and securities regulation; banking, estate planning, probate and trusts; real estate; domestic relations; and criminal defense.
