Symphony Asset Management
Founded in 1994 to create and manage hedged strategies, Symphony Asset Management, LLC is a leading institutional manager of market-neutral and alternative investments. Symphony currently manages over $5.3 billion in different asset and sub-asset classes, blending both the science and the art of money management to focus on absolute return while controlling risk. Symphony's four founding partners worked together at Wells Fargo Nikko Investment Advisors (now Barclays Global Investors) for a decade and directed their sub advisory partnership with Barra, Inc. before starting Symphony. Today, each principal has a long and successful experience in the industry, spanning quantitative analysis, portfolio management, operations and client service. In July of 2001, Nuveen Investments purchased Symphony from its founding partners and Barra, Inc. Over a century old, Nuveen Investments markets its capabilities under four distinct brands and is listed on The New York Stock Exchange, trading under the symbol "JNC." And, while the founding partners still guide Symphony Asset Management, LLC today, the firm has grown considerably, expanding the array of talents and products available to our clients. Symphony's unique combination of firmly grounded quantitative analysis united with the innovative and insightful qualitative analysis provided by our people gives us our edge.
