SYSKRON

Syskron is carrying out another intralogistics project for an enterprise in the dairy industry after having received an order for an extension of the highbay warehouse for the Gropper Dairy in Bavarian Bissingen. Following the building of the new warehouse for the Milchwerken Berchtesgadener Land, the IT service provider from Freising is thus once again the complete supplier for an overall logistics solution. For Gropper, Syskron will be modernising the existing control and data techniques while the plant is in operation and will deliver the steel construction, the ceiling and wall panelling as well as four automatic warehouse operating devices with corresponding conveying techniques. Gropper is a family managed enterprise now in the third generation with 180 employees. The dairy produces fresh milk, desserts, whippping cream and yogurt for its own brand "Gropper", for the Munich brand "Käfer" and for various other brand names. In order to create new warehouse capacities for the fresh products that are produced in three shift operation, Syskron will expand the existing automatic, three lane highbay warehouse built in 1998 by four additional lanes and also expand the existing pallet conveying plant. The expansion of the highbay warehouse - designed as a silo structure with ceiling and wall supports - will, upon completion, provide space for exactly 3,360 Europallets for fresh products on a surface of more than 1,000 square metres and up to a height of 25 metres. After the expansion the highbay warehouse, enlarged to a total of seven lanes and over 5,800 pallet spaces, will have a warehouse handling capacity of 120 entries and 200 removals per hour. These values were calculated by Syskron before start of construction in a plant simulation run. The control system for the new highbay warehouse will be subject to a thorough modernisation. Syskron will retrofit the existing control units for the warehouse operating devices and conveyor techniques to Simatic S7 and will install a material flow computer that in the future will be directly connected to the new SAP-R/3 modules, also included in the scope of the order, LES (for the integration of the warehouse and distribution centre in the overall dairy processes) and WM (warehouse management).
