Taunton Housing Authority

The Taunton Housing Authority was established in 1948 to provide safe, decent and affordable housing opportunities in the City of Taunton and remains committed to this mission. We are committed to providing opportunities to people who experience barriers to housing because of income, disability or special needs in an environment that preserves personal dignity, and in a manner that maintains the public trust. A primary goal of the Taunton Housing Authority is to continue to provide housing for these low-income households while improving housing and economic opportunities for residents and maintaining high standards of property management, fiscal management and service delivery. The Taunton Housing Authority currently administers 818 units of low-income public housing and 962 Section 8 vouchers. In 2011 the Taunton Housing Authority was awarded a $22 million HOPE VI grant from HUD to redevelop our former Fairfax Gardens public housing community and the Parcel 6A site in Taunton. In total, HOPE VI funding resulted in the development of 190 units of mixed-income housing, including 30 Soft Second loans for first-time homebuyers to promote homeownership in Taunton. We have developed this website to better serve our residents, applicants, and the larger community by providing helpful information about the Taunton Housing Authority, its policies and procedures, and the application process. Please take the time to enjoy the site and feel free to contact us with suggestions regarding information that would be helpful to you or ideas about how the site can be improved.
