Team One Credit Union
Team One Credit Union was originally organized by a group of 15 teachers as Saginaw Teachers Club Credit Union in 1935. Formed to fill a need as a place where teachers could receive financial assistance at reasonable rates, the purpose of this credit union was, and is, to encourage thrift (savings) among our members. In 1957, Dean Ruple and his wife, Lois, ran the credit union from their front porch. Dean retired from the Credit Committee in 1998 and passed away in August of 1999. The office on Hayden Street in Saginaw, across from the Board of Education, was opened in 1967. At that time, the first employee, Donald Pilon, was hired. That structure was torn down in 1983, and the current facility was built to accommodate the increase in membership. Don retired as CEO in 1994, and Konnie Werner became President/CEO. Sadly, Don passed away in November of 1999. In the spring of 2000 we remodeled the current structure to accommodate our growing staff and membership base. Over the years, Team One has grown to 10 locations in Saginaw, Bay City, Clio, Grand Blanc, Caro, Bad Axe, and Sandusky. Anyone living, working, or worshipping in those areas is eligible for Team One services.
