Tecis Ltd is an economic and social consultancy, established in 1999 to provide economic advice for policy in the social sector. We have now expanded our services to advise commercial and social enterprises. We are based in Durham City in the North East of England but work both nationally and internationally. Our roots lie in academic research, using economic and statistical analysis to provide new perspectives. This theoretical base has been enriched by our experience in advising on a range of practical issues. You may not think that economics or statistics can help you but we believe that our creative approach to decision-making can provide real benefits to your organisation. We have addressed a wide range of issues including: estimating the costs and benefits of a variety of educational initiatives; identifying employers' needs in terms of the education, training and attitudes of their workers; reviewing the options available for organisational development; developing and supervising a strategy for market analysis for new companies; reviewing and comparing proposals to reduce inequality; identifying ways to collect accurate information on violence against children; analysing the value for money provided by a variety of activities. We like to work closely with our clients to make sure that we produce outputs that meet their needs and expectations. We have considerable experience of building good working relationships in a variety of situations. Our principal researcher is Dr Ivy Papps. We have a wide academic and consultancy network that we can use to add specific expertise to supplement our own.
