Tusas Engine Industries
TEI (TUSAS Engine Industries, Inc.), a joint venture by Turk Havacilik ve Uzay Sanayii A.S., General Electric (GE), Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TSKGV) and Turkish Aeronautical Association (THK) to promote development of aviation industry in Turkey, has recently made an interesting record attempt. TEI participated in the Guinness World Record attempt titled Pink Paper Plane Challenge™, which was organized simultaneously worldwide this year as part of the Women of Aviation Worldwide Week which also covers March 8, and supported the event with 4092 planes made by approximately 600 people in Eskisehir between 12.00 PM and 12.15 PM in local time. Aviation for All Association assisted TEI in the organization. The attempt took place in the garden of Haci Suleyman Cakir Anatolian High School for Girls, which was attended by the 200 students of the schools as well as 200 female students selected from 11 other Anatolian and Science High Schools chosen across Eskisehir by the Provincial Directorate of National Education. 80 female employees from TEI, GE Leaders, Female Columnists, press members and female leaders from other sectors also attended the event which was intended for celebration of both the Women of Aviation Worldwide Week and the International Women's Day on March 8 with an out-of-the-box organization.
