Texans For Vaccine Choice would be mistaken to be an antivaxx group because it serves media goals so well to peg us that way. We have members that continue to vaccinate their children! The media and pharma also love to allude that we are Jenny McCarthy followers and that because Dr. Andrew Wakefield lives in Austin, he is somehow part of OUR movement. While we can have similar complaints about vaccine safety, we are different. TFVC's goals are that parents call the shots and that we must have informed consent. One thing we all agree on is that there is danger deep underground. The 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act (NCVI) granted manufacturers a get-out-of-jail free pass on vaccine injury. This enables them to fast-track vaccines (including the 300 more being developed) and to never properly test them for safety or in combination with other vaccines or genetic conditions. Zero liability and low safety standards are treacherous grounds to walk on. Because of the 1986 NCVI Act, we work with legislators to maintain the rights of those parents who feel the untested CDC vaccine schedule should be handled with caution. We cannot understand WHY the media and our medical professionals don't align with us on the basic principles of healthy doctor-patient relationships and informed consent. We CAN understand why the pharmaceutical industry doesn't. Our blog links PLENTY of evidence that proves they give out tremendous incentives to keep us labeled as the last social pariah! We ARE the epicenter. We certainly are NOT the fault. We, our injured and rattled community, are decidedly and passionately yelling, "DANGER! If we are shaking, it is because the fault DEEP underground has exploded. It is not our fault. We are simply the evidence of what many people cannot see happening underground. Share this:
