College of Bowen Studies

The College of Bowen Studies is an established, well-respected college, training therapists in The Bowen Technique since 1994. We strive to offer excellence in every area and are dedicated to providing students with an exciting and professional learning experience, through which they develop into confident and knowledgeable practitioners of The Bowen Technique. The European College of Bowen Studies, established and run by Director and Principal Instructor Julian Baker, has been instrumental in the introduction and widespread success of The Bowen Technique in the UK and Europe until January 2016 when Paula Esson took the baton into the future. Our teachers, already experienced Bowen Technique practitioners, undergo a demanding, intensive and structured Teacher Training Programme that combines dynamic teaching and communication methods with detailed Bowen concepts and philosophy. The course is structured to be practical and 'hands-on' with plenty of individual teacher-student supervision, which is a method that strongly contributes to the ability and confidence of new practitioners. The College ensures that students have a firm and confident grounding in the technique: in short, a well-supervised, thorough and skill-centred course of study for the practise of this highly effective therapy. For those who have attained the Certificate of Proficiency, C.B.S. also offers a wide variety of seminars, advanced courses and specialised training for ongoing accredited practitioner development. One of the hallmarks of C.B.S. is the reliable support offered, not only to students during their training but to fully trained practitioners as well. Teachers are available as often as is reasonably possible to all students and practitioners to discuss or advise on any client treatment questions. Staff in the C.B.S. office are available to help you with enquiries, problems or product orders. Upon the occasions when, due to meetings or staff holidays, the answer-phone is on during office hours, calls will normally be returned within 24 hours.
