The Carolina Opry Theater
The Carolina Opry is the first live variety show on the Grand Strand. Calvin Gilmore, owner and producer of The Carolina Opry, opened the theater in 1986 kicking of an entertainment boom along the Grand Strand. Currently in its 23rd season, The Carolina Opry is the only show in Myrtle Beach to be awarded the Governor's Cup and Most Outstanding Attraction by the State of South Carolina. The Carolina Opry features the biggest band in the south performing a variety of music, comedy and dance, enhanced by lighting, sound and multimedia effects. The second show at The Carolina Opry, performed by the same cast, is Good Vibrations, featuring music and comedy from the Sixties, Seventies and Eighties, for a feel-good evening where every song is a blast from the past.
