Program perks include hundreds of thousands of dollars in hosting benefits from Google, Amazon, SoftLayer, as well as substantial discounts on software and other products and services that startups often need, like MailChimp, SendGrid, and outsourcing, marketing and design services. How many founders should we have? Ideally, we'd like at least two full-time founders to be physically present in Atlanta for the 12 weeks of the program. We like to have a CEO and CTO, so you have a diversity of skillsets represented in the program. However, we know that every company is different. If this is not possible for you, we still encourage you to apply, or to reach out to us so we can better understand your situation. It is possible to have a successful company as a solo founder, but we have found that in order to fully maximize the resources we provide you during The Farm's program, you need at least two people. Will you force me to pivot? We never force a company to change direction-instead we provide each team the tools they need to become expert investigators and have an intimate knowledge of their customers, their market, and the problem they are solving. We will challenge your decisions, then encourage you test your thinking against the data you gather through customer discovery. We believe you should do this with any advice you get from mentors, investors, or others outside the accelerator. What kinds of companies are you looking for? The Hardware Lab is free for all entrepreneurs who would benefit from using the space. If you are working on an IoT or hardware product, this lab was built for you. We have a short process in place to vet your company and make sure that we are able to support you and your idea, as well as ensure the safety of the Lab and other Lab users.
