The Fishpool Inn, Delamere - owned and operated by Nelson Hotels - opened in February 2013 following a comprehensive £2million refurbishment. After a thirteen month long restoration of the 17th century historic building, The Fishpool Inn is now one of Cheshire's finest family gastro pubs with a stunning and quirky interior design, a menu featuring traditional home comforts, both modern British and European, and a bar offering eclectic wines and a variety of real ales from local breweries. The Publican Awards judging process was rigorous with meticulous attention being paid to how the site was redeveloped, the efficacy of design and space, the marketing and promotion, the quality of the food and drink as well as the overall success of the venture. Editor of the Publican's Morning Advertiser, Rob Willock said "Nelson Hotels really impressed the judges with their detailed approach to the refurbishment and how they marketed the venue pre-launch. It is a lesson in how to successfully transform a faded roadside pub into a unique and thriving family gastro pub.
