The Kitchen Community

The Kitchen Community was originally created by restaurateur Kimbal Musk to educate adults and children on the benefits of healthy eating through hands-on education. That outreach can now be found at... biggreen.org. "You bring people together with food. You connect them and tie the fabric of society together through food." KIMBAL MUSK Today, the Kitchen Community focuses on all aspects of healthy living including food, garden, and lifestyle through online education. Healthy living refers to the practices that are consistent with bettering, supporting, improving, maintaining and/or enhancing health. As it applies to individuals, healthy living is the practice of health enhancing behaviors, or put simply, living in healthy ways. It implies the physical, mental and spiritual capacity to make healthy choices. The Kitchen Community endeavors to be a resource for that information. Under the guidance of Managing Editor Cassie M. Marshall, the Kitchen Community focuses on providing cutting edge information in four areas: Recipes, Informational Guides, How To’s, and Best of Guides. In Recipes look for delicious, healthy recipes that can be made quick and easy (and hopefully from your own garden). Our Informational Guides will point you in the right direction when looking for new kitchen appliances or cooking utensils. In How To’s you’ll find answers to all of those pressing questions as it concerns food. Our Best of Guides will showcase the best recipes and products designed to help you live a healthier life. Our goal is to be the resource you turn to for any question regarding the kitchen or a healthy lifestyle. Managing Editor Cassie Marshall brings decades of experience to the Kitchen Community. A noted chef and gardener, her new book, Healthy Eating Through the Garden, should be out shortly. When not writing or speaking about food and gardens Cassie can be found puttering around farmer's markets and greenhouses looking for the next great idea.
