But the idea for The Politicus was developed when Dammand was 21 years old in 1998. While at Hofstra University Dammand was tasked with creating an online business for his Internet eCommerce course. And instead of creating the next eBay or Amazon, Dammand developed The Politicus. At that time the site was called Politics Made Simple. The core idea for Politics Made Simple was to give regular people the ability to share their views and opinions on politics. And even though the name changed 11 years later, offering regular people the opportunity to share their views on politics is still our core mission today. The Politicus isn't your typical collaborative content platform that only allows the creation of blog post.
