We provide guidelines to our businesses to reduce their environmental footprint. We monitor energy consumption data and are always seeking ways to reduce our usage. We encourage employee participation through our Eco Committee. All our guest bedrooms are non-smoking. We have a linen and towel reuse programme for our guests. We have installed low-flow Rain Forest Showers and achieve reduced water consumption through installation of flow reducing devices and improved awareness. We use compact low level lighting across all areas and have bedroom energy controllers which provide substantial reductions in energy usage with air conditioning & lighting operation in our hotel bedrooms. We strive to effectively recycle newspaper, white paper, glass, aluminium, cardboard, plastic and kitchen oil. We strive to eliminate the use of toxic cleaners, sanitizers, paints and pesticides. We donate excess food, guest amenities, furniture and computer equipment whenever possible. We aim wherever possible to use only the best local suppliers in order to reduce environmental impact through transportation. This is particularly noticeable in the food we buy.
