In 1994 TIME Clothing was established as a family business in the former Ciskei with a staff complement of 90. Based in the Eastern Cape settlement of Mdantsane outside of the city of East London, the company employs over 500 staff members the majority of which are women. This is a boom for the area where the unemployment rate is over 40%.
