The Editor will play an essential role in shaping Timeline's early content strategy and editorial vision by developing and following through with stories that are important and engaging for a broad yet discerning audience. In addition to having flawless editing skills and impeccable attention to detail, candidates must also be able to assist in planning, developing, and executing long-term content strategies, as well as manage a diverse community of writers, journalists, and contributors. Who are we looking for? Candidates should have at least five years digital journalism or relevant experience, and a demonstrated ability to explain complex subjects and write engagingly. They should have an eye for important stories that fly under the radar and are routinely ignored by traditional news media. Excellent skills in editing, scheduling, story assignment, and long-range planning of features are a must. The ideal candidate should be based in San Francisco.
