Tjn Enterprises
TJN Enterprises, a joint venture between Shine Bros. Corp. of Spencer, IA and Sioux City Compressed Steel of Sioux City, IA, was formed in 1989 by Toby Shine, Norman and Jack Bernstein. Shine Bros. Corp. was formed in 1902 by Toby Shine's Grandfather Sam and Uncle Harry. Toby's father, Ben joined the business in 1929 and Toby took over reins in 1960. Sioux City Compressed Steel Co. began business in 1940, founded by Jack and Norman Bernstein's father, Sam. Both companies now have yet another generation, with Jack's son, David and Toby's daughters, Keven and Eva holding significant roles in management. Today TJN Enterprises has grown to a total of seven locations in three states. Each of these seven companies are not only a entity of their own, they also play a substantial role in feeding the Auto Shredder and Chopping Lines at the larger locations. New steel sales is also available at most locations.
