Today Sotheby's International Realty has a long history of success in San Mateo County dating back to April, 1990, when it began as Today, Inc., a one-office firm in San Carlos founded by broker/owners Jeanne Garde and Jim Meader. In 24 years it's grown to include almost 100 sales associates. Since the start, Today's strategy has been to empower individual associates, giving them the support and freedom to function at the highest level possible. In 2013, those associates closed more than 1,200 transactions. For the year, Today had the highest per agent productivity rate among San Mateo County Association of Realtors member firms, both in terms of number of completed transactions and total sales volume. The firm finished the first quarter of 2013 with a market share 35 percent greater than its next closest competitor and is on track to surpass $1 billion in total sales in 2014.
