Top of the World is beyond devoted to the people who make our business possible. The time we spend volunteering and getting to know our community is a humbling, enriching, and fulfilling experience. Top of the World is constantly looking for ways to get involved and offer help to those who need it. Here are some events that we have had the pleasure to be a part of: Big Brothers Big Sisters: Top of the World holds an annual event where employees donate money to Big Brothers Big Sisters to participate in a bowling tournament where they use their favorite fruits and veggies as a bowling ball and engage in some friendly competition with co-workers for a good cause. Loveworks Leadership: Top of the World employees have the opportunity to leave work a bit early to be a part of an after school program where they can mentor local children by helping them with homework, instilling valuable virtues like teamwork and sportsmanship by playing games and sports alongside the children, and sometimes just simply enjoying a meal with them. Center for Children and Families, Inc. (CCFI): Top of the World employees are always willing to volunteer their time at the local CCFI where they have the opportunity to bond as co-workers while helping contribute to a good cause with whatever they may need, from yard work to craft projects. Early Head Start (Moore Head Start): Top of the World employees frequently volunteer to visit with the children at the Moore Head Start Center throughout the year, sometimes even bringing some college athletes to join in the fun. During the holidays, employees are able to adopt a Head Start family and Top of the World provides funds for each child in need to receive a new outfit for their Thanksgiving dinner as well as toys for Christmas. Sample Sale: Every year, Top of the World gathers all of the sample caps that didn't "make the cut" and holds a big sale for the community. The sample sale funds go towards various charitable causes throughout the year, but in particular the funds from the event are used to fund our annual holiday program with Moore Head Start. "Backpack Program": Top of the World is a contributory benefactor to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma's "Food for Kids- Backpack Program". Localized within Cleveland County, this program provides chronically hungry children, identified by school personnel, with backpacks filled with non-perishable, kid-friendly food to eat on weekends and school holidays. According to a survey of Backpack Program Coordinators, the program has reduced absenteeism, improved grades and behavioral problems among chronically hungry children.
