Toyos Clinic

Toyos Clinic was established in 1998 when Dr. Toyos was recruited by Jackson General Hospital from Northwestern University and Children's Hospital. The hospital needed a specialist to perform eye exams on premature babies in the NICU. The clinic was opened with the goal to become a center of excellence meaning a clinic considered to be in the top 10 percentile in the country. We achieved that goal by providing unparalleled care with a focus on personal attention and by offering patients state of the art technology. To stay current on what's new in Ophthalmology the clinic established a research team to conduct various FDA and non FDA studies. We have won countless awards and grants for our research. We have been able to develop technology and techniques that are being utilized by eye doctors throughout the world. We are teaching the future doctors of the world with rotations for students from the Southern College of Optometry and University of Illinois Medical School. Doctors from over 20 countries have come to study and observe the clinic's systems and techniques. We have grown from a one doctor practice with a handful of employees to a multiple doctor practice with several locations. Our focus is the person who is our patient. We have used this success to provide care to the less fortunate in the community and abroad free of charge.
