Transportation Research
The Transportation Research Corporation (TRC) was chartered by Virginia's State Corporation Commission on November 13, 1980. On January 1, 1981, TRC was further commissioned as a Professional Corporation. TRC was founded for the purpose of conducting transportation engineering research with emphasis on the integration of human factors engineering into highway safety field studies. The operating philosophy of TRC dictates a very low overhead in order to conduct highly cost-effective technical activity. Specialty areas include highway safety, traffic engineering, human factors, and highway design. TRC staff and associates are experienced in data collection/analysis, highway accident reconstruction, software development, statistics, and publication production (i.e., word-processing, editing, art/graphic design). TRC engages resource professional expertise in varied technical and scientific disciplines. In its 30-year operation, TRC has successfully completed over 40 major federally funded research activities, performing as the prime contractor, subcontractor or consultant.
