Triangle Civilworks

Triangle Civilworks, P.A., is a consulting engineering firm providing general civil engineering and associated consulting services for planning our client's visions for development of their sites and physical properties and for bringing their plans through permitting requirements and through construction to reality. The company opened for business on January 1, 2011 at our current office location in Smithfield, North Carolina, with two founding principals, Gene B. Cobb as President and A. Dan Simmons, Jr., as Vice-president. Gene and Dan had worked together at successive consulting engineering firms dating back to 1973 at Ragsdale Consultants in Smithfield. Together their combined experience in the private practice of engineering exceeds 100 years. Their long-established, on-going relationships with public and private clients formed the basis of their work and early success of the company. Their client service area was focused primarily within North Carolina and particularly within the Research Triangle regional area. Daniel "Chad" Simmons, P.E., joined the firm in 2012. He had also worked at previous consulting firms with Dan and Gene dating back to 1998. In addition to his general civil engineering design capabilities, Chad brought state-of-the-art CAD production management skills to the company. Triangle Civilworks, P.A., is a corporation (professional association) duly registered with the North Carolina Secretary of State and with the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Land Surveyors (C-2603). At present the company employs six full-time employees. The size and ownership of the company qualifies it as a small, veteran-owned company. Due to our long history with planning civil engineering projects, we have developed relationships with other professionals and consulting firms that provide supporting services in such areas as Landscape Architecture, Transportation and Traffic Engineering, Wastewater Treatment Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Materials Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering Services, and Surveying, These relationships allow us to perform a broad range of project work in a responsive and cost-effective manner.
