UBC Orbit
UBC Orbit is a team of approximately 20-25 science and engineering students of many different experience levels and areas of study. Our team has members ranging from first years to graduate students, combined with an excellent group of advisers and sponsors providing us with some of their valuable expertise. We are one of fifteen teams across Canada competing in the first ever Canadian Space Design Challenge (CSDC): a competition to design and build a nano-satellite from off-the-shelf parts that will carry a scientific payload. The winning team's satellite will be launched into orbit to carry out its mission, which will be run by the team members for a minimum of one year. UBC Orbit is proud to announce that we have attained second place in our Preliminary Design Review (PDR0, out of all competing teams in the CSDC. We are currently seeking members and sponsors, and are welcoming any commitment, large or small. There are many diverse areas that members can contribute to, such as structure, space-proofing, power systems, communications, and software.
