Uintah Basin Medical Center - Uintah Basin Healthcare

Through the years we have helped generation after generation reach better health. Our organization has been striving to serve the needs of our region since we were established in 1944 as the LDS Roosevelt Hospital. After the LDS Church divested itself of all its hospitals, Duchesne County assumed ownership of the hospital. The facility was renamed the Duchesne County Hospital. In November 1993 under the current hospital administrator, Bradley D. LeBaron, the hospital name was changed to Uintah Basin Medical Center under a 501-C3, not-for-profit corporation. In 2008, without a change in ownership or leadership, the hospital corporate structure changed to allow the organization of the hospital foundation. The corporate name of the healthcare system is Uintah Basin Healthcare with the hospital name remaining as Uintah Basin Medical Center. Under LeBaron's direction, the hospital began a progressive expansion by adding more physicians and specialties. The objective was to provide more specialized healthcare services locally so residents would not have to travel long distances to the Wasatch Front when specialized medical services were needed. Since 1944, we have set out to make improvements in healthcare for Roosevelt and the whole Uintah Basin Region. We here at Uintah Basin Medical Center are loyal to our community and region, and will continue to strive for excellence in healthcare.
