In addition to supporting the overseas branches, UBMO continued to supply packages of materials to overseas contractors on major projects such as hotels, universities, hospitals, industrial and petrochemical plants. British and Overseas Government departments and the Ministry of Defence were also major clients. In 1992 UBM Building Supplies was purchased by another UK based PLC and UBMO management were given the opportunity to stage a management buyout. From that time until now, UBMO has remained a privately owned company and continues to service overseas clients in the same way that we have done for the last 40 years. We have regularly supplied materials to Middle East, Africa, and Eastern Europe. UBM Overseas Ltd is now based in Clevedon which is just a few miles from the original office in Bristol and still employs some staff who have been with us since the company started trading.
