Uloba

Uloba works to ensure that those of us who need assistance can live free and independent lives with citizen-controlled personal assistance (PA). Uloba - Independent Living Norge SA is a non-profit organisation established as a cooperative society. Our goal is a world in which people with disabilities can participate in all areas of society. Uloba is the Norwegian Independent Living organisation, with an ideology based on disability being a phenomenon created by society and not a characteristic of the individual. Uloba developed PA in Norway. Almost 1,000 disabled people now use Uloba's PA scheme. This is one third of all PA users in Norway. Uloba is the employer of almost 6,000 assistants. We provide services all over Norway, and our head office is in Drammen. Around 100 people work in the organisation's administration, 64% of whom have a functional impairment. Our contractual partners are the municipalities of Norway, and we sold PA for around NOK 884 million in 2016. Uloba is a non-profit organisation, and all our profit is invested in the work we carry out for our 1,400 members.
