UNC STUDENT TELEVISION
Our programming spans a wide variety of genres: sitcoms, soap operas, talk shows, sketch comedy, fashion, sports -- you name it! We broadcast original, student-produced shows 24 hours a day on UNC campus channel 19.001 and we update our YouTube, Vimeo, and Website regularly! Since its founding in 1983, STV has provided hundreds of UNC students, regardless of major, the opportunity to get hands-on experience producing television programming for and about UNC students, student organizations and the University. Now it's your turn to act, write, direct, film, edit, and be seen, heard, rule the universe...you get the idea. Speaking of ideas, STV is always looking for concepts for new shows, so bring 'em on! STV gives UNC students valuable experience that helps them land great jobs in film, television, radio, multimedia and countless other fields. Director Peyton Reed (Bring It On, Down with Love, The Break-Up, Yes Man) said, "From the writing to the editing, I still use the lessons I learned at STV." Other STV alumni include Mamrie Hart, two-time Streamy Award winner and creator of the YouTube channel You Deserve A Drink, Simone Suber, Digital Brander for L'Oréal, John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky, executive producers of Fox's King of the Hill and MTV's Beavis and Butthead, director John Schultz (Like Mike, The Honeymooners, Aliens in the Attic), Survivor executive producer Dave Burris, Saturday Night Live writer Bryan Tucker, actors Billy Crudup and Dan Cortese, and ESPN's Stuart Scott.
