Universal Cranes

Universal Cranes Pty Ltd (formerly Universal Contracting) was established in 1993 and started with a fleet of three franna cranes operating out of a small depot at Clontarf. After a stream of successfully completed contracts Universal Cranes quickly became recognised as a new, reliable and innovative company in the Australian construction industry. A change of ownership saw Universal Cranes enter into a period of rapid growth. In the space of 18 months Universal Cranes opened six new branches along the East Coast of Australia, the first being the opening of the Sunshine Coast branch in early 2005, and the Ballina branch soon after. In April 2005 Universal Cranes became the Australian representative for Sarens, an international leader in heavy lifting and transport. Sarens Australia relaunched independently in October 2009, and Universal Cranes now operates as a heavy lift crane provider in its own right. While Universal Cranes still offers a superior casual crane hire service, recent development has focused on increased specialisation in comprehensive heavy lift engineering and crane solutions. Universal Cranes has recently completed many challenging and highly demanding heavy lift solutions on a variety of projects, including lifting conveyors in Cadia, ongoing Windfarm work in South Australia, lifting superstructure modules on to RAN ships for BAE Systems, and installation of bridge beams for Theiss in the Hunter Valley. Universal Cranes continues to develop branches with the recent opening of Universal Cranes Roma, Universal Cranes Mackay and the imminent opening of Universal Cranes Melbourne and Universal Cranes South Australia early 2015. Universal Cranes is looking towards an exciting future of further branch growth and services development in order to better serve remote clients and to provide comprehensive lifting solutions for highly technical lifts.
