Starting from the 2017/18 season, UPC will own the broadcasting rights for Swiss ice hockey. When the next season starts, the new sports channel, MySports, will also begin to broadcast. Thanks to the collaboration within the SUISSEDIGITAL association, to which cable operators such as Quickline and net+ belong, more than 3 million customers will have access to Swiss ice hockey sport. At the same time, UPC will become the licensed contractual partner of the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation for the next five years. From summer 2017, MySports will offer high quality and innovative live sport entertainment with its own editorial team in all language regions. At least one live Swiss ice hockey league game will be broadcast each week on the MySports free channel, as well as analyses and studio discussions. With additional options or via OnDemand, customers will be able to bring even more live entertainment into their living room in the form of subscriptions or individual purchases. The new sports channel should also provide a home for sports that have received little media coverage up to now.
