Founded in 1972, Upstate Area Health Education Centers is a non-profit, community-based organization committed to connecting students to health careers, healthcare professionals to communities, the healthcare workforce to continuing education, and communities to better health. The program offers high school students exploring a career in healthcare, healthcare professional students facilitating clinical rotations in the rural and underserved areas and healthcare professionals continuing development classes either on-site or on-line with AHEC U. SC counties services include: Abbeville, Anderson, Edgefield, Greenwood, Greenville, Laurens, McCormick, Oconee, Pickens, Saluda, and Spartanburg. The company is headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina.
