Van Duzer Vineyards
believing that the windswept microclimate of the van duzer corridor could produce uniquely oregon pinot noir, carl & marilynn thoma helped open a new wine region when they founded van duzer vineyards in 1998 on the outskirts of the emerging willamette valley. located in dallas, oregon (no not texas … this is oregon), the vineyard sits atop a knoll in the heart of its namesake, van duzer corridor, where marine winds rush through a deep gap in the coast range. the geologic effect wraps the welcoming vines in cool pacific air, moderating temperatures, and extending hang time to build intensity of flavor. today, van duzer vineyards is the oldest winery and defining producer of pinot noir in the van duzer corridor ava, a distinct sub-ava of oregon’s willamette valley. crafted by the wind in a location unlike any other, van duzer vineyards is a live certified sustainable winery, and family-owned since 1998. 2023 marks the winery’s 25th anniversary.
