When I started Vanguard Cleaning 12 years ago it was because I wanted to create a cleaning company with a different approach. I had been working as an operations manager for a large national chain of department stores. Every time I engaged a cleaning company to clean our premises, whether it was in Manchester, Glasgow or London, the story was the same - shocking service, unprofessional management, poorly motivated staff and lengthy minimum service contracts. I saw an opportunity of providing something very rare - a cleaning company who offered good old fashioned customer service, a cleaning company who regarded its team members as important as its customers and crucially a cleaning company who didn't tie their customers into any sort of contract whatsoever. We now know our customers love having no contract and it keeps us on our toes to offer an outstanding level of service day in day out. As they say the rest is history. We have developed our business significantly in a decade. Most notably we have specialised our resources and expertise in delivering cleaning and support services to medical establishments both large and small. Unlike many of our competitors we are not afraid of this area of cleaning. We love meeting the exacting standards our medical partners rightly demand and it was when we became aware that we were successfully and consistently meeting those standards that we realised this is where our future lay. Although we know that CQC inspections have been a huge and unwelcome headache for our medical partners it has presented us with an opportunity. An opportunity to excel in what we do and at the same time take the stresses and strains away from practice managers so at the very least, they can forget about the cleaning side of things when the CQC inspectors come knocking on the door. Our management team and staff are rightly proud to work for a market leader in the industry. Indeed, many of our team have been with us since the beginning and have seen the business develop into what it is today. Many have also developed with the business and moved into senior management roles. Some things will never change though - our complete focus on the service and standards our customers have grown to expect and our emphasis on building a strong team with the absolute minimum of staff turnover.
