Ingenieursbureau Van Dijk Suriname N.V. (VDS) is a diesel engine service company, serving the Surinamese community since 1933, engaged in the sales and maintenance of MTU brand engines, MTU Generators, Lo-Lift Pumps, Industrial Combustion burners, Allison and Twin Disc Transmissions, Atlas Copco Compressors, Deutz Engines and related peripherals. Our roots in the Surinamese diesel engine market date back to 1947 when we were appointed the General Motors distributorship. Since the development of the Detroit Engine division in 1965 our name and reputation has been built on the Detroit Diesel brand. The Detroit Diesel Corporation was officially launched in 1988. Ownership of the company has changed hands a few times since 1988 and is now operating under the Rolls Royce Power Systems umbrella with the Detroit Diesel brand sold as part of the MTU engine line card.
