Vinnie Ream Hoxie - The first woman in history to get a commission from the United States Congress for a statue. She received the award when she was only 18 years old in 1865. Her white marble statue of Abraham Lincoln stands in the rotunda of the United States CapitolBuilding in Washington, D. C.
