Volunteer Prince William
Volunteer Prince William (VPW) is the coordinating agency for all court-related community service work (CSW) in Prince William County (PWC), for both adult and juvenile cases. We routinely process referrals from the 31st General District Court and PWC probation offices, with our fees paid by the county. Cases from other courts, jurisdictions or probation offices, as well as self-referrals opting to perform CSW prior to conviction, are subject to a fee of $80 (exact change or money-order only, no checks or credit cards) payable at intake. CSW clients provide relevant background information and sign a contract to perform CSW, and are then referred to a CSW site as convenient as possible to their home location and schedule. The entire contract process takes only 15-20 minutes here in our office. Upon notice of completion from the CSW site, we report the success directly to the appropriate local authority, or provide a letter for the client to coordinate with other jurisdictions and agencies. Intake interviews are conducted on a walk-in basis, weekdays only, from 9am to 4pm, and we close for lunch 12:00-1:00.
