The Sonoma Valley Computer Group has been serving the needs of Mac and PC users for many years by: hosting monthly meetings (currently on hiatus) educating members and the public through our monthly newsletter partnering with educators and institutions in the community, including: Santa Rosa Junior College, Computer Information Services Sonoma Adult Education having fun! Since 1991, Sonoma Valley Computer Group (SVCG) has been a leader in the advancement of educating the community in computer technology and telecommunications. Today the Sonoma Valley Computer Group is a major contributor and supporter of computer education; in particular, SVCG has had an incredible impact on members' interest in the Internet. SVCG, formerly called Valley of the Moon Computer Users Group (VOMCUG) originated with a handful of folks interested in sharing with the community their knowledge and love for computers in Sonoma. With no budget and minimal support, they set about creating a dynamic group of hard-working computer enthusiasts. SVCG offers monthly meetings where guest speakers talk about a variety of topics ranging from internet, email, how-to get connected; genealogy; iPhoto, Photoshop Elements; word processing, page layout and presentation programs; to how to put a newsletter together. Meetings start at 10 A.M. Club is currently on hiatus.
