I am a non-native speaker, can I still apply ? Unfortunately not, VUS only employs Native English speakers and highly qualified Vietnamese English teachers. What is the salary ? VUS offers one of the most competitive hourly rates in Vietnam and South-East Asia. Annual pay raises are dependent on teaching performance. What is a typical schedule for a teacher? As a language center we mainly operate outside of regular school and work hours. The majority of our classes take place at weekends and during weekday evenings, although we do also run daytime classes too. What are the facilities ? VUS prides itself on its facilities. Each campus is very modern and well maintained by dedicated and knowledgeable staff. Classrooms are spacious and have an average of 16 students. Each class room is equipped with air conditioning, a computer, a projector, a whiteboard and speakers build into the ceilings. There is a teachers' lounge with computers, printers, photocopiers and resources. What are the average teaching hours? Part-time teachers can expect to work between 12-16 hours per week. Those on full time contracts can expect between 20-25 hours per week. What is the recruitment process? VUS recruits both locally and from overseas. The first phase or recruitment is to complete the application form and upload your documents. Our HRT Team will then schedule and interview with you either in person or via Skype. For candidates inside Vietnam we ask that you do a 1-hour paid demonstration lesson with real students which is observed by one of our campus managers. Applicants are informed of the outcome directly after the lesson Those applying from overseas will be asked to write a lesson plan based on some of the current materials used at VUS.
