For nearly forty years, Wai Lana has introduced countless people to yoga, helping people of all ages-and from all walks of life-improve their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Her "Wai Lana Yoga" TV series continues to attract a huge audience and has played a key role in helping ignite yoga's mainstream popularity in the United States and around the world. Having aired nationwide for over 18 years, it is the longest-running fitness series ever on public television. The show has also aired internationally on five continents including North and South America, Asia, Europe, Australia and the Middle East. Having produced and hosted nearly two hundred half-hour television programs of yoga instruction, Wai Lana is one of the most well-known yoga teachers in the world today. Along with co-directing and hosting her TV shows, Wai Lana also designs the colorful clothes and flower garlands she wears during production. She's travelled the world to shoot her projects in the world's most beautiful, pristine locations in order to create inspiring visuals for her audience. Instructing us from the breathtaking coastlines of California and Hawaii to the snow-capped mountains of New Zealand, to the spectacular red rock deserts of Sedona, Wai Lana has become a favorite of viewers of all ages-from preschoolers to great-grandparents. Wai Lana is not only a beautiful and charming yoga teacher, she is a mother of three, grandmother of six, song writer, author, and genuine advocate for peoples' inner peace and well-being. Wai Lana has also produced several yoga DVDs for people of all levels, developed teacher training programs, published books, designed kids' yoga products, recorded music and meditation albums, developed a complete line of yoga gear, and even has her own line of all-natural snacks. Following the successful release of her Easy Meditation for Everyone kit, Wai Lana is in the process of producing a comprehensive book on yoga wisdom, developing meditation and yoga apps, and is actively involved in social media on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Last year, Wai Lana produced her acclaimed "Namaste" music video to celebrate the first ever International Yoga Day on June 21, 2015. She wrote the Namaste song to help us "to remember one of yoga's greatest lessons-humility and respect for others. "Namaste" was included in an hour long PBS special called "Wai Lana Yoga for a Better Life & a Better World" which aired nationwide. "Namaste" was also presented at the headline event held by the United Nations at their headquarters in New York City and was streamed live to tens of thousands of yoga lovers gathered at Times Square. It has since been viewed millions of times on YouTube, and other platforms, around the world. For International Yoga Day 2016, she released a new music video and short film called "Alive Forever. In these beautiful videos she shares the ancient yoga wisdom of "Aham Brahmasmi"- I am an eternal spiritual being. As Wai Lana sings, we can all be peaceful and happy knowing that we need not be afraid of getting old because the true self is ever-youthful and everlasting. To the serene and warm-hearted Wai Lana, introducing people to yoga is an important service to the global community. She has dedicated her life to this endeavor, and what began in a small way has grown dramatically.
