Wardah Books

Wardah Books, established in 2002, is located in Bussorah Street, a little street steeped in Malay/Muslim literary history for having been home, since at least the 1870s, to bookshops and print presses. We believe bookstores serve as barometers of literary culture for it is a space - separate from home and work - in which readers can connect with writing they have not yet encountered or have not had the opportunity to browse. Books are central to Islamic culture and they remain the best technology for preserving and expounding ideas across time and space. And as we like to think of it, reading is not history.
