Wasatch Academy

Wasatch Academy has educated students for 140 years, providing a boarding school atmosphere that embraced diversity in a college preparatory environment. We maintain those principles today, as we annually welcome students from nearly 40 countries and throughout the United States and subsequently send 100 percent of our graduates to college. While our lengthy history provides a foundation for our mission, it does not anchor us to archaic philosophies. We offer students an education in a challenging and stimulating academic environment that will prepare them for success in the 21st century with all of its accompanying technological, sociological and creative challenges. From the moment a student steps onto the Wasatch Academy campus, he or she becomes the center for everyone. Our teachers celebrate the uniqueness of our students. Instead of walking into a classroom and lecturing to a generic oneness, our teachers design their classrooms and lessons to leverage the intellectual strengths of every single student. Our individualized attention coupled with a vigorous curriculum pushes students to excel well beyond expectations and prepares them for a lifelong passion for learning. We provide the foundation for later academic success, as reflected by a 100 percent college acceptance rate for our graduation students. The education of a Wasatch Academy student doesn't end at the classroom door. Our full-time Residential Life faculty work to provide the practical advice and emotional support every teenager needs. They also ensure the security of every student under their care, both inside and outside of the dorm. Creativity plays a primary role within a Wasatch Academy education, and we have devoted millions of dollars in the past few years to develop facilities that encourage students to fully express themselves through music, visual arts and technical arts. Outside of the classroom, we push our students to embrace the surrounding mountains, rivers and canyons. Every weekend, students can camp, ski, rock climb, skateboard and mountain bike. They can ride horses at our Equestrian Center, play any number of outdoor sports or engage in rigorous, regular exercise such as dance and martial arts in our fully renovated Physical Arts facilities. At our core, we reach out to our students to bring out their individual significance, their worth, their dignity. We bring out their intelligence in a way that they can best express themselves. They graduate with confidence in their capabilities to move forward in their learning and meeting the challenges of an ever changing world.
