Watts commercial furniture is a proud bearer of the ISO14001 Certification (an industry standard for Environmental Management Systems). As part of our ongoing commitments to the environment, we have implemented many systems to reduce both our energy usage and waste output. In the period of 2014-2015 we have reduced our gross waste output by 4.63%. This has been achieved through staff training and initiating various recycling programs with our suppliers. During the same time period, WCF has reduced our electricity consumption by 2.36%. Existing office lighting has been replaced with energy efficient compact fluorescent bulbs. Skylights have been installed in our factory and existing mercury vapour lighting has been replaced with Poly carbonate lens LED lighting, leading to an energy usage reduction of more than 70%. Staff have been educated on energy saving measures throughout the factory and office to further reduce our energy consumption. Looking toward the future, we are studying the viability of installing solar panels on our premises. In addition to waste and energy reduction, WCF is committed to maintaining a clean and safe environment. Dust Management systems are in place to minimise environmental pollution, as well as procedures for the correct storage, handling and disposal of chemicals and potentially hazardous materials. WCF in conjunction with our suppliers and waste management specialists have committed to recycling or re-using all of our: Paper and cardboard.
