The Western Group of Companies has operated in Corner Brook since 1988 when Clyde Melendy, after serving as General Manager for several years purchased Western Toyota. Later, Western Mazda, Western Kia, Western Used, Western Motor Sports, Melendy Constructions and Discount Car & Truck Rentals Corner Brook were added to the family. Today, the Western Group is one of Corner Brook's largest private-sector employers, with over 125 employees across the organization. Chief Executive Officer, Michelle Melendy won a 2017 Top 50 CEO Award from Atlantic Business Magazine. Under her leadership, the Western Group is committed to integrity, good stewardship, community leadership and delivering outstanding customer experiences.
