Westwood Community Church
Westwood Community Church is a community of believers in Jesus Christ who seek to honor God by enjoying Him. We strive to reach people with the love of Jesus Christ. We are a community with open hands, receiving from God all He wants to give, believing He wants to give us a lot. And with open hands giving it away, believing we cannot out-give God. When did Westwood Community Church begin? Westwood's first Sunday service was held on Easter Sunday, 1995. Westwood is the third church plant of Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie. Services were initially held at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater for the first two and one-half years. After that, services moved to the Chaska High School. Services are now held in our new facility located in Excelsior. Why was Westwood Community Church formed? Westwood was formed to draw people from the western suburbs of Minneapolis into relationship with Jesus Christ. Wooddale Church, in Eden Prairie, provided the impetus to launch Westwood as its third church plant. What is the Sunday morning service experience like? The Sunday experience consists of a unique blend of praise and worship music and a message that brings the Word of God into everyday life. Our pastoral staff strives to take God's Word and make it relevant to the challenges Christians face in life today.
