White Horse Inn

Launched in 1990, the White Horse Inn is a listener-supported radio show and podcast named after a pub in Cambridge, England, where the Reformation came to the English-speaking world. This weekly show features regular round-table discussions on faith, culture, and apologetics. Founder and Editor-in-Chief Michael Horton and Producer and Host Shane Rosenthal aim each week to equip Christians to "know what they believe and why they believe it." The White Horse Inn hosts and regular contributors unite themselves on the principle slogans of the Protestant Reformation: Scripture alone, by grace alone, through faith alone, Christ alone, and for God's glory alone. By renewed attention to these classic and central themes as well as the historic Protestant confessions, it is the aim of White Horse Inn to serve churches who want to fulfill their divinely-mandated mission at a time when so many churches are transforming the Christian faith into forms of consumerism, pragmatism, politics, entertainment, and moralistic therapy. The broadcast regularly features interviews with leading thinkers, "on the street interviews," that help show popular convictions among either Christian or non-Christian groups, and frequent interaction with quotes from movies or music lyrics that help us analyze American culture. People from all over the world listen to the White Horse Inn on our website, their favorite podcast app, or on nearly fifty radio outlets nationwide. Our vision is to see a new reformation in our churches through a rediscovery of God, the gospel, and the classic Christian confessions proclaimed during the 16th century Reformation. By helping Christians "know what they believe and why they believe it," we hope to contribute to the growth, spread, and broader evangelistic vision of churches that are committed to the gospel ministry of Word and sacrament.
