Whitnall School District

Whitnall.org is intended to be the one-stop destination for any information about the Whitnall Band Program. Providing timely news, detailed calendars, and accurate driving directions are the core functions of this site. To enhance the experience and promote transparency through events, complete recap sheets from events, recordings of previous events, and discussion venues are provided. To foster a broad appreciation for the program's strengths, links to nearly every related organization are a click away. To help create pride in the organization, a detailed history is provided. This website's first edition appeared in the fall of 1999, and, over the next few years, moved around from one address to another. Finally, Whitnall.org was acquired and has been the final home of the site. During this time, the site has been privately owned and operated by members of the band program and has not officially been endorsed by the Whitnall School District. Whitnall.org is currently powered by Netfirms who relies on the Apache server software running on the FreeBSD operating system. Video is edited and encoded using Apple QuickTime 6.3 Pro, Apple iMovie 3, and Apple Final Cut Express. Audio is edided and encoded using Apple QuickTime 6.3 Pro, Apple iTunes 4, and HairerSoft Amadeus II. Photo content is managed by Apple iPhoto 2 and edited using Adobe Photoshop 7. Graphics work is done with Adobe Photoshop 7. Coding is done with Apple TextEdit and Microsoft Notepad. The message boards are powered by phpBB. Since counting began, there have been unique visitors.
