Williamwood Farm
Williamwood is an ideal location from which to explore some of the most stunning countryside Scotland has to offer, with the benefit of being close to some of the greatest cities, like Edinburgh and Glasgow. Cattle and sheep breeding are our main farming activities. We have two herds of cattle, a Highland herd, (the ones with the horns) and a herd of Luing cattle, (pronounced 'Ling' after the Scottish Island). All our cattle are grass-fed, which means they mature at a naturally slower rate and produce a beef that is tender and full of flavour. We can offer beef from the freezer on the farm, so not only can you enjoy the view, you can taste the view too! Our sheep are a Welsh hill sheep breed called Lleyn (pronounced 'Clin'), they have lovely white faces and are very hardy. Like Old Macdonald we also keep many animals as pets and for our younger visitors enjoyment: Shetland ponies, a donkey, alpacas, pygmy goats, a mini-pig called Tottie, hens and last but not least our dogs.
