The Windber Area Authority
The mission of the Windber Area Authority (WAA) is to provide its customers with premium water and sewage service offered at the lowest rates in the region. This service is monitored and updated to protect the public health, promote growth and ensure a strong community infrastructure, to safeguard the environment, and to adhere to the standards established by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) and the Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Windber Area Authority was formed in 1967 as a non-profit agency. The WAA provides water and sewage treatment service for approximately 6,000 customers in the Windber Area.
